Tijdfilm

Tijdfilm is een opeenvolging van onbeduidende beelden, die ruimte laten voor interpretatie en associatie. Het is een registratie van het venster die de filmprojector en het projectiescherm medieert in de oude buurtcinema. In contrast met de kleurvlekken, tekent de tand des tijds – het stof, de spinnenwebben – van deze cinema zich scherp af. Op de achtergrond horen we de geluiden van de film, die echter worden overstemd door het geratel van de projector in de projectiekamer.

Zowel visueel als auditief wordt de toeschouwer aangezet de verschillende lagen van tijd te percipiëren: het hier en nu van de kijkervaring van het kunstwerk. Het vastgelegde momentum van de film. De geschiedenis van een oude cinemazaal. De tijd waarbinnen het verhaal van de film zich ontwikkelt. De tijd waarin een film wordt afgespeeld. De tijd die dit alles vastlegt.

Tijdfilm is een reflectie op film, een reflectie op tijd.

Timemovie

Timemovie is a montage of tenuous images that gives the spectator room  for interpretation and association. It is a registration of the window that mediates the film projector and projection screen in an old neighborhood cinema. In contrast with the color spots,the test of time,  the dust and cobwebs, is sharply displayed. In the background we hear the sounds of the film, which, however, are drowned out by the clatter of the projector in the projection room.

Both visually and aurally the viewer is encouraged to perceive the different layers of time: the here and now of the viewing experience of the artwork. The captured momentum of the film. The history of a cinema hall. The time in which the story of the film develops. The duration of a movie. The time that captivates all of this.

Timemovie is a reflection on  film, a reflection on time.
